A used brake that fits one vehicle won't always fit another - even within the same model range. These questions help breakers match stock to your exact vehicle before they quote:
The first-generation Peugeot 208 ran from 2012 to 2019, and the second generation launched in 2019 and is still current. These two generations are very different cars with different platforms, so brakes from a second-gen 208 will not fit a first-gen car and vice versa. Always tell the breaker which generation yours is — or simply give them your registration.
Both years fall within the first-generation 208 (2012–2019), so there is a reasonable chance they share the same brake components, but engine size can affect brake specification — a 1.2 petrol may carry smaller discs and calipers than a 1.6 or a diesel variant. Confirm with the breaker against both registrations before purchasing.
Trim level — Active, Allure, GT Line, or any other — does not in itself determine brake fitment on the 208; what matters far more is the generation and engine size. That said, higher-trim or higher-powered variants may have larger discs or different calipers, so give the breaker your exact engine size and registration rather than just the trim name. You may also receive a caliper in a different colour from the one on your car, which is purely cosmetic and does not affect function.
The first and second-generation 208 are built on different platforms, so brakes are very unlikely to be interchangeable across that 2019 boundary. Do not assume compatibility just because the model name is the same — confirm fitment with the breaker against both registrations before ordering.
For calipers, side absolutely matters — the nearside (NS, passenger side) and offside (OS, driver side) are handed and will not swap over. Discs and pads are generally the same left and right on most 208 variants, but it is still worth telling the breaker which corner you need to avoid any confusion. Always specify NS or OS when requesting a quote.
The 208 GTi is a higher-performance variant and is known to run larger, uprated brakes compared with standard 208 models of the same generation, so standard-spec parts are unlikely to be a straight swap. Confirm the exact specification with the breaker against your registration, as there may also be mid-generation brake upgrades that affect which parts are correct for your specific car.
