Fitment on a used propshaft varies by vehicle, so a bit of detail goes a long way. Our request form covers what breakers need to know, so every quote you get back is for the correct part:
Only some Qashqais have a propshaft — specifically those fitted with four-wheel drive (4WD), where a propshaft runs from the gearbox to the rear differential to drive the rear wheels. The vast majority of Qashqais sold in the UK are front-wheel-drive only, and those models have no propshaft at all. If your Qashqai is front-wheel drive, you will not find a propshaft on it and may be looking for a driveshaft (the shafts that deliver power to the front wheels) instead.
Check your V5C registration document or the sticker inside the driver's door jamb — 4WD or AWD variants were badged accordingly and are less common than the standard front-wheel-drive models. You can also check your registration against the DVLA or a data check service, which will confirm the drivetrain. If you are in any doubt, ask a breaker to verify against your registration before ordering a propshaft.
The Qashqai ran as the first generation (J10) from 2006 to 2013, with a facelift around 2010, and the second generation (J11) from 2014 onwards, with a facelift around 2017. These are completely different platforms and a propshaft from a J10 will not interchange with a J11. Always source a propshaft from the correct generation, and confirm the specific part against your registration with the breaker.
Trim level does not affect propshaft fitment on the Qashqai — what matters is whether the vehicle is 4WD and which engine is fitted, not whether it is badged Visia, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna or any other trim. A 4WD Acenta and a 4WD Tekna of the same generation and engine size should use the same propshaft. Confirm the part against your registration with the breaker to be sure.
Engine size can affect the propshaft specification, as higher-torque engines may be paired with a differently rated drivetrain. It is not safe to assume a propshaft from a 2.0-litre 4WD Qashqai will directly interchange with one from a 1.6-litre 4WD model without checking. Always confirm the engine size and full specification against your registration with the breaker before purchasing a used propshaft.
The J11 second-generation Qashqai ran from 2014, with a facelift in 2017, so a 2015 car is a pre-facelift J11 and a propshaft from another pre-facelift J11 4WD of the same engine size is likely to be compatible. However, whether parts interchange cleanly across the 2017 facelift boundary is something you should confirm with the breaker against your registration, as running gear can be updated during a mid-generation refresh. A good breaker will be able to verify the correct part using your registration number.
