Only turbocharged Tucson engines have an intercooler — it is part of the forced-induction system that cools compressed air before it enters the engine. All diesel variants (such as the 2.0 CRDi and 1.6 CRDi) are turbocharged and do have an intercooler, as does the 1.6 T-GDi petrol. Naturally aspirated petrol engines fitted to some earlier Tucson variants do not have an intercooler at all, so if your car has one of those engines you will need to look for a different part.
No — the TL generation (2015–2020, facelifted 2018) and the NX4 generation (2021 onwards) use different engine families and different engine bay layouts, so their intercoolers are not interchangeable. Trim level makes no difference to intercooler fitment whatsoever — what matters is the engine code, not whether the donor car was an S, SE, Premium, or Premium SE. Any differences between trim levels are cosmetic (interior, wheels, equipment) and have no bearing on the intercooler. Just make sure the engine code on the donor vehicle matches yours, which you can find on your V5C or via a VIN check.
Almost certainly not — different engine displacements and codes have different intercooler sizing, pipe connections, and mounting points, even within the same generation and the same fuel type. The engine code must match, not just the fuel type or the model year. Always quote your exact engine code to the breaker so they can pull the correct unit from the right donor vehicle.
Drivetrain layout (2WD versus 4WD) does not affect the intercooler itself, as the intercooler is determined by the engine rather than how power is sent to the wheels.
