The Movano has run across two main generations in the UK: the first generation (A) covered roughly 1998 to 2010, and the second generation (B) ran from 2010 onwards, with a facelift around 2019. These generations are built on different platforms and share very little mechanically, so a radiator from a first-generation van will not cross over to a second-generation van and vice versa - confirm the exact fit against your registration with the breaker.

These two vans fall either side of the 2010 generation boundary - the 2008 is a Movano A and the 2012 is a Movano B - and the two generations are mechanically distinct, so direct fitment across that boundary is very unlikely. Engine code and fuel type still govern which radiator is correct within each generation, so supply your engine code and registration to the breaker so they can confirm compatibility definitively.

The engine code matters most - the Movano was offered with a range of diesel engines across its production run, and different engines can have different cooling requirements, core sizes, and connection points even within the same model year. Your engine code is stamped on the engine block and listed on your V5C, and giving it to the breaker alongside your registration is the single most useful thing you can do to get the right part.

Trim or body style designation does not affect radiator fitment - what matters is the engine code, fuel type, gearbox type, and year within the generation. A radiator sourced from a different body variant will be equally suitable as long as those mechanical details match, though you may notice cosmetic or mounting bracket differences depending on the exact build, so confirm ancillary fittings with the breaker against your registration.

Both fall within the Movano B generation (2010 onwards), with the facelift arriving around 2019, so there is a reasonable chance of compatibility if the engine codes match - however, ancillary connections, mounting points, and pipework can change during a mid-generation facelift, and you should not assume a direct swap. Give the breaker both registrations or at minimum your full engine code and build year so they can check the specific part numbers before you commit.

Fuel type alone is not sufficient - the Movano carried several different diesel engine variants across its production run, and the radiator specification can differ between them even on vans of the same age. You need the engine code at minimum, and ideally the donor vehicle's registration so the breaker can cross-reference part numbers and give you a confident answer on fitment.
