A used rear bumper that fits one vehicle won't always fit another - even within the same model range. These questions help breakers match stock to your exact vehicle before they quote:
The Qashqai has run across three well-established generations: the first-generation (J10) ran from 2006 to 2013, the second-generation (J11) ran from 2014 to 2021 with a facelift in 2017, and the third-generation (J12) launched in 2021. Rear bumpers are not interchangeable between generations as the body panels are completely different each time. Always quote your registration to the breaker so they can confirm the exact generation and pressing for your car.
The J11 second-generation Qashqai was facelifted in 2017, and the rear bumper styling changed at that point, so a pre-facelift bumper from a 2014–2016 car and a post-facelift bumper from a 2017–2021 car are different pressings. Your 2016 car is pre-facelift, so you need a bumper from that 2014–2016 pre-facelift run. Whether the parts cross the facelift boundary is something you should confirm with the breaker against your registration, as panel tolerances can vary.
Trim level does not affect rear bumper fitment on the Qashqai — the body shell pressing is the same whether the donor car was a Visia, Acenta, N-Connecta, or Tekna within the same generation and facelift period. What can differ is cosmetic finishing: Tekna models may have had parking sensor cut-outs, chrome trim strips, or different paint, so the bumper you source may need sensor holes added or blanked and will need a paint match. Tell the breaker your trim as well as your registration so they can flag any cosmetic differences before you buy.
Both years fall within the J11 second-generation post-facelift run (2017–2021), so they share the same body platform, which is a good starting point. However, the J12 third generation launched in 2021, so a 2021 donor car could be either generation depending on when it was built and registered. Confirm the exact generation of the donor car with the breaker against both registrations before purchasing, as a J12 bumper will not fit a J11.
The Qashqai+2 was a seven-seat variant sold alongside the first-generation (J10) Qashqai and, while it shared the same platform, it had a longer body to accommodate the third row of seats. This means the rear bumper is a different part and is not a straight swap with the standard five-seat Qashqai rear bumper. Confirm exact compatibility with the breaker against your registration to be certain.
2014 is the start of the J11 second generation, so that description correctly excludes the first-generation J10 (2006–2013), which is a sound starting point. However, the J11 was facelifted in 2017 and the J12 replaced it from 2021, so a single bumper is very unlikely to cover the entire 2014-onwards span correctly. Check with the breaker that the part matches your specific generation and pre- or post-facelift period against your registration before committing.
