Fitment on a used headlight varies by vehicle, so a bit of detail goes a long way. Our request form covers what breakers need to know, so every quote you get back is for the correct part:
The current-generation Ranger (T6 platform) ran from 2011 through to 2022, with a notable facelift in 2015 that updated the front-end styling including the headlights, grille and bumper; a further refresh arrived around 2019. The next-generation Ranger (T9 platform) launched in 2023 and carries completely different front-end panels. When searching for a used headlight, knowing which generation and which facelift period your truck belongs to is the most important starting point.
These two trucks sit on either side of the 2015 facelift boundary – the 2014 is pre-facelift T6 and the 2016 is post-facelift T6, and the front-end styling changed at that point. The headlights may or may not interchange across that boundary, so you should confirm against your specific registration with the breaker before buying. Never assume a pre-2015 unit will drop straight into a post-2015 shell.
No – headlights are front-end components shared across all cab configurations within the same generation and facelift period, so wheelbase and body style make no difference to fitment. Focus your conversation with the breaker on the model year and whether your truck is pre- or post-facelift rather than which cab style you have.
Trim level – whether your Ranger is an XL, XLT, Limited or Wildtrak – does not affect the fundamental fitment of the headlight assembly, as these trims share the same front-end structure within a generation and facelift period. However, higher trims such as the Wildtrak may have been fitted with different light internals (for example bi-LED versus halogen projectors), so there can be cosmetic or wiring differences between a light pulled from a base-spec truck and one from a top-spec truck. Confirm with the breaker which light variant they have against your registration to make sure the unit matches what you need.
The simplest check is to look at your V5C registration document or use a free DVLA enquiry to confirm the exact year of first registration, then compare that against the 2015 facelift boundary for the T6-generation Ranger. Visually, the post-2015 facelift trucks have a restyled grille and revised headlight shape compared with the chunkier pre-facelift design. Having your full registration to hand when you contact the breaker is the most reliable way to ensure they pull the correct unit for your specific truck.
No – NS and OS headlights are handed (mirror-image) parts and are not interchangeable with each other, so always specify which side you need when requesting a quote from a breaker. Both sides must still match your generation and facelift period, so the same year-range guidance applies whichever side you are replacing.
