Used ignition switchs vary between vehicles - and whether you call it used, second hand or a replacement, matching the right one matters. These are the details breakers need to match the right part to your car - our request form asks them so you only hear from suppliers with the correct part:
Most Fiat Doblo variants use a conventional barrel-type ignition switch that you insert and turn with a key, so yes, the part exists on this model. Later Doblos, particularly from around 2015 onwards on certain higher specifications, may have been fitted with a push-button start system instead, meaning no traditional ignition switch is present. Check your own dashboard to confirm which system your Doblo has before searching for this part.
The Doblo changed significantly between the first generation (2001–2010) and the second generation (2010 onwards), and the ignition switch housing, barrel, and associated wiring connector are unlikely to be directly compatible across that boundary. Confirm with the breaker by giving them your exact registration, as they can cross-reference the part numbers to check whether the switches share the same connector and mounting arrangement.
In most cases the engine variant does not affect which ignition switch is fitted, as the switch is part of the steering column assembly rather than the engine-specific wiring. However, if your Doblo has an engine immobiliser system or transponder ring integrated with the ignition barrel, the switch assembly needs to be coded to your vehicle, so always confirm with the breaker whether the part they have includes the barrel and whether coding will be required.
Trim level does not affect the ignition switch itself, as the same switch assembly is used across Active, Dynamic, and other trim variants within the same generation. What may differ cosmetically is the surrounding column shroud or any chrome detailing around the barrel, but the functional switch and connector should be the same. Confirm the generation and year of the donor vehicle with the breaker to make sure you are getting a like-for-like part.
Both a 2013 and a 2015 Doblo fall within the second generation (2010 onwards), so there is a reasonable chance the ignition switch is compatible, but minor running changes within a generation mean this cannot be guaranteed. Give both registrations to the breaker so they can compare part numbers before you commit, and check whether either vehicle has push-button start, which would make the switch non-applicable.
If the replacement ignition switch comes with its own transponder barrel, it will almost certainly need to be coded or paired to your Doblo's immobiliser system, otherwise the car may not start even with the correct key. Some breakers supply the switch body only without the barrel, in which case you transfer your existing barrel across and coding may not be needed. Clarify exactly what is included with the part when you contact the breaker, and budget for a Fiat dealer or auto locksmith to carry out any coding work required.
