Used BMW M4 Front Grille

The BMW M4 runs across two generations: the F82 (2014–2020) and the G82 (2021–present), and grilles are not interchangeable between these two platforms as the front ends are completely different designs. Within the F82 generation, the front grille design was updated, so always confirm with the breaker which exact period your car falls into when searching for a used part. Never assume fitment without checking against your registration.

Both a 2017 and a 2014 M4 fall within the F82 generation (2014–2020), so they share the same basic front-end platform. However, BMW made detail changes to the grille and surrounding panels during this generation, so whether a specific grille from a 2017 car will drop straight onto a 2014 without any adjustment is something you should confirm with the breaker against your exact registration. Do not assume a direct swap without that check.

The F82 M4 received a mid-life update during its production run, and grilles, bumpers and lights often change at these facelifts even when the underlying platform stays the same. You should name your registration to the breaker so they can confirm whether the specific grille they have crosses that boundary and fits your car. Fitment across a facelift boundary cannot be guaranteed without that verification.

Trim level does not affect which front grille fits in terms of the mounting points and panel design, as these are shared across M4 variants within the same generation. However, the Competition may carry cosmetic differences such as gloss black finishes or badging that differ from a standard M4 grille, so be aware the part may look slightly different if sourced from a different variant. Confirm the cosmetic finish with the breaker if appearance is important to you.

The standard 4 Series (F32/F33/F36 or G22/G23 depending on generation) and the M4 share the same broad platform within their respective generations, but the M4 front end uses a different bumper and grille design specific to the M model, with its own larger openings and styling. A standard 4 Series grille is very unlikely to be a direct fit on an M4 without modification. Always source a grille specifically listed for the M4 and confirm with the breaker against your registration.

The M4 is offered as a coupe and a convertible (and in the G82 generation also as a Competition xDrive), and the front grille and bumper are shared across these body styles within the same generation as the front-end structure is common. This means the body style of the donor car is not a concern when sourcing a front grille, though you should still confirm the model year and any facelift period with the breaker against your registration. Never guarantee fitment without that confirmation.
