Yes – every generation of the BMW M3 has been rear-wheel drive, so a propshaft (driveshaft running from the gearbox to the rear differential) is a genuine part of the drivetrain on all of them. However, whether the propshaft is fully interchangeable across the 2017 facelift boundary is something you should confirm with the breaker against your specific registration, as mid-generation running-gear revisions can occur without being publicly documented. Give the breaker your full VIN or registration plate for the safest match.

Trim level alone does not affect propshaft fitment – the propshaft is a drivetrain component determined by generation and gearbox type, not by whether the car is a standard M3 or the Competition variant. Both versions share the same engine and transmission options within a generation, so a propshaft from a standard G80 M3 and a G80 M3 Competition should be the same unit. That said, always confirm with the breaker against your registration plate before purchasing.
