The E63/E64 generation ran from 2003 to 2010, and the F06/F12/F13 generation ran from 2011 to 2018, with a facelift arriving in 2015 that updated the front-end styling including the lights. Parts from before the 2015 facelift are unlikely to be a straight swap onto a post-2015 car, but whether a specific indicator from either side of that boundary will interchange is something you should confirm with the breaker against your registration before ordering.

For front indicator lights, the good news is that front-end panels including lights are shared across body styles within the same generation and facelift period, so the Coupé (F13), Convertible (F12) and Gran Coupé (F06) all use the same front indicators. Rear indicator lights are a different story and may vary by body style, so let the breaker know your exact body style when asking about rear units.

The E63/E64 6 Series received a facelift in 2007, so a 2007 car could be either a pre-facelift or post-facelift example depending on exactly when it was built and registered. Check your registration plate or VIN with the breaker so they can identify which specification your car is and match the correct indicator light.

Engine choice has no bearing on indicator light fitment — the 640i and 630d share the same front-end panels within the same generation and facelift period. As long as the generation and facelift period match, the indicator should be the same part regardless of engine.

Trim level does not affect indicator light fitment on the BMW 6 Series, so an indicator from an SE car is the same part as one from an M Sport within the same generation and facelift period. The main thing to be aware of cosmetically is that some trim levels may have different surround or grille finishes nearby, but the indicator unit itself is interchangeable.

These two cars sit either side of the 2015 facelift within the F12/F13/F06 generation, and the facelift brought changes to the front-end lighting. Whether a specific indicator from a 2013 car will physically interchange with a 2016 car is something you should confirm with the breaker against both registrations, as the facelift boundary is the key risk here.
