There can be overlaps within a family, but confirming whether a specific 420d DPF crosses to a 430d is something you need to verify with the breaker against both engine codes. Do not assume diesel means interchangeable.

The 4 Series F32 shares its platform and many drivetrain components with the F30 3 Series, so there is a reasonable chance some DPF units overlap where the engine code and emissions standard match exactly. However, exhaust routing and packaging can differ between body styles, and interchange specifics between 3 Series and 4 Series DPFs are firmly confirm-with-the-breaker territory.
