Fitment questions

What years does the Nissan Qashqai front cross member fit across – are there different generations I need to worry about?

The Qashqai has run across three clear generations: the first-gen J10 ran from 2006 to 2013, the second-gen J11 ran from 2014 to 2021, and the third-gen J12 launched in 2021 onwards. The front subframe and cross member design changed significantly between each of these generations, so a J10 part will not cross over to a J11 or J12. Always quote your generation or registration to the breaker so they can pull the right unit.

Will a cross member from a 2012 Qashqai fit my 2015 model?

A 2012 car falls in the first-gen J10 (2006–2013) and a 2015 car sits in the second-gen J11 (2014–2021), so these are different generations with different front-end geometry. Parts from the J10 are not a direct swap onto the J11 and you should not assume they are interchangeable. Confirm the part number with the breaker against your registration to be certain.

Does trim level matter – will a cross member from a Qashqai Acenta fit my Tekna?

Trim level alone – whether Visia, Acenta, N-Connecta, or Tekna – does not affect the front cross member, as the subframe is determined by the generation and engine rather than the trim grade. That said, if there are any sensor brackets or mounting points for adaptive cruise or other driver-assistance hardware on your Tekna, check with the breaker that those features are present on the donor car's cross member. The structural part itself is the same across trims within the same generation and engine pairing.

Does the engine size on my Qashqai affect which front cross member I need?

Within the same generation, larger or heavier drivetrains can mean subtle differences in subframe mounting points or bracing, so it is worth telling the breaker whether you have a 1.3-litre petrol, a 1.5 or 2.0-litre diesel, or another variant. For a straightforward like-for-like swap, matching engine size as well as generation gives you the best chance of a direct fit. Give the breaker your full registration so they can check against the specific variant rather than relying on the model name alone.

I have a 2018 Qashqai – did it get a facelift that might affect the cross member?

The J11 generation received a facelift in 2017, which brought styling and interior updates but the core front-end architecture and subframe design remained within the same J11 family. In practice, a pre-facelift J11 cross member and a post-2017 facelift J11 cross member are likely to be the same, but whether any minor engineering changes were made mid-run is something you should confirm with the breaker against your registration before buying.

Can I use a cross member from a Qashqai+2 on my standard five-seat Qashqai?

The Qashqai+2 was a longer-wheelbase seven-seat variant offered during the J10 generation (2006–2013), and while it shared much of its platform with the standard Qashqai, the extended body and additional weight mean there can be differences in front subframe specifications. We would not recommend assuming the cross members are a straight swap, and you should confirm with the breaker whether the donor part came from a standard Qashqai or a Qashqai+2 before proceeding.
