A used parking sensor that fits one vehicle won't always fit another - even within the same model range. These questions help breakers match stock to your exact vehicle before they quote:
Parking sensors were available on the Nissan NV400 as a factory-fitted option on higher specification variants, so they do genuinely exist on some examples of this van. However, many NV400s left the factory without them, particularly base-level fleet and commercial spec vehicles, so not every van will have had them fitted. When searching for a used set, confirm with the breaker that the donor vehicle actually had sensors fitted rather than assuming any NV400 will be a match.
The NV400 in the UK runs across one main generation spanning roughly 2011 onwards, with a facelift arriving around 2016 that brought updates to the front end and interior. Sensors from a pre-facelift (2011–2016) vehicle and a post-facelift (2016 onwards) vehicle may differ in connector type, bumper mounting arrangement, or control module calibration, so crossing that boundary is not straightforward. Name the generation boundary to the breaker and ask them to check the donor vehicle's year against yours before buying.
Trim level alone does not affect whether the sensors themselves are physically different — the sensor units and wiring are not trim-specific parts. The more important question is whether the donor van actually had parking sensors fitted at all, since they were an option rather than standard across all trims. Cosmetically the sensors should match your bumper colour if you're replacing a visible unit, so check the colour code with the breaker, but the hardware interchange is trim-neutral.
Front and rear parking sensors on the NV400 are typically the same sensor units in terms of the physical transducer, but the control module, wiring loom, and bumper bracket arrangements differ between front and rear fitment. A rear sensor unit may physically plug into a front position if the connector matches, but confirm this with the breaker rather than assuming interchangeability. It is worth telling the breaker which position — NS rear, OS rear, front centre, and so on — you actually need so they can supply the right piece from the donor vehicle.
Engine variant does not affect parking sensor fitment on the NV400; the sensors are mounted in the bumpers and are not related to what is under the bonnet. Whether the donor van is a 2.3 dCi in one power output or another makes no difference to whether the sensors will suit your vehicle. Focus instead on the model year relative to the 2016 facelift and whether the donor van was genuinely factory-fitted with sensors.
Give the breaker your full registration number so they can verify the exact model year and specification, and ask them to confirm the donor vehicle's year and whether sensors were factory fitted rather than dealer-added aftermarket units. Aftermarket sensors fitted by a previous owner may not match OEM connectors or the control module your van expects. Also check whether you need a full kit — sensors, loom, and module — or just a replacement transducer, as pricing and availability will differ significantly.
