These two years sit in different generations — the 2010 belongs to the Tour-era Combo and the 2013 to the Combo D — and the two generations use different dashboard designs and wiring systems, so a straight swap is very unlikely to work. This is exactly the kind of cross-generation boundary where you should not assume compatibility; confirm with the breaker against your registration before ordering. Never rely on the year alone without checking which platform the donor vehicle came from.

For the Combo, trim level alone does not determine radio fitment — what matters is the generation, the head unit format fitted to the donor vehicle, and whether the wiring loom and steering-column controls match yours. A radio from a higher-spec Combo of the same generation may look different or have additional functions such as a colour screen or CD changer compatibility, so be aware of cosmetic and feature differences when sourcing. Confirm with the breaker that the unit matches your generation and connector type rather than worrying about trim names.

Within the Combo D generation there can still be differences in head unit specification, connector pinouts, and software across the production run, so fitment is not guaranteed across all years in that range. Radios that use the same physical fascia size, connector type, and loom configuration are the most likely to interchange, but coding or software may also need to match. Check with the breaker that the donor vehicle's year and specification closely match yours before purchasing.

The Combo E is based on a completely different PSA-derived platform from its predecessors and uses an entirely different dashboard, wiring architecture, and infotainment system, so its radio will not fit an older Combo D or Tour-era Combo without major modification. These are separate generations with no meaningful parts interchangeability for interior electrical components. Stick to sourcing a radio from a breaker who can confirm it came from the same generation as your vehicle.

Some Vauxhall radios, particularly from the Combo D generation onwards, may require a security code or dealer-level programming to work correctly in a different vehicle, so it is worth asking the breaker whether they can supply the radio's code or confirm it is not locked. Physical fitment and electrical compatibility are only part of the picture — a unit that powers up but asks for a PIN is a common issue with used head units.
