Fitment on a used parking sensor varies by vehicle, so a bit of detail goes a long way. Our request form covers what breakers need to know, so every quote you get back is for the correct part:
The Nissan Primastar (2002–2014, a rebadged Renault Trafic / Opel Vivaro of that generation) was a panel van and crew bus primarily sold as a commercial vehicle, and factory-fitted parking sensors were not a standard or widely offered option on this model through official Nissan UK channels. It is possible some vehicles had aftermarket parking sensor kits fitted by dealers or previous owners, but these are not genuine Primastar OEM parts and will vary enormously in brand, wiring, and spec. If you are looking for a replacement for sensors already on your van, they are almost certainly an aftermarket kit, so check the brand or part number stamped on the existing sensors and source a matching replacement rather than searching by vehicle model. A breaker is unlikely to hold these as a Primastar-specific part, but an aftermarket auto-electrical supplier or online retailer would be a better route.
Across the Primastar's production run from 2002 to 2014, Nissan UK did not list parking sensors as a factory-fitted option in the way they did on passenger cars such as the Qashqai or Note. The Primastar shared its platform with the Renault Trafic and Vauxhall Vivaro, and none of these commercial variants are known to have offered OEM rear parking sensor systems through the standard options catalogue. If sensors are present on your vehicle, they will have been retro-fitted, either by a dealer as an accessory install or by a previous owner. Confirm this by checking your original vehicle specification sheet or contacting Nissan UK with your registration number.
Because the Primastar, Vivaro (Mk1, 2001–2014), and Trafic (Mk2, 2001–2014) share the same bodyshell and rear bumper design, aftermarket or dealer-fit sensor kits installed on one of these vans may well share compatible bumper hole spacing and wiring routes with another. However, since any sensors present are aftermarket fitments rather than OEM parts, compatibility depends entirely on which kit was installed, not on the vehicle model itself. A breaker selling sensors pulled from a Vivaro or Trafic cannot guarantee they will match what is on your Primastar, so confirm the brand, sensor diameter, and connector type against your existing setup before buying.
Trim level does not determine parking sensor fitment on the Primastar because sensors were not part of the factory trim structure in the first place. Any sensors fitted will be aftermarket additions applied regardless of whether the van is a base or higher-spec variant, so the trim name on your V5C is not useful information when sourcing replacements. Focus instead on the physical spec of the sensors already on the van — diameter (commonly 18 mm or 22 mm), colour, and connector type — as these are what determine compatibility.
It is unlikely a breaker will hold individual Primastar parking sensors as a catalogued used part, precisely because they were not factory-fitted and therefore do not come off vehicles as a regular salvaged component. If a breaker has stripped a Primastar that happened to have an aftermarket kit, the sensors may be available, but matching them to yours depends on brand and spec rather than vehicle year or model. Your most practical option is to identify the brand of your existing kit (often printed on the sensor body or control module) and buy a direct replacement sensor from that manufacturer or a universal aftermarket supplier. Universal parking sensors are widely available in the UK and can be colour-matched to your bumper.
