Mercedes-Benz GLS Wing Replacement Parts

The GLS has run across two main generations: the first-generation X166, produced from 2016 to 2019, and the second-generation X167, which launched in 2020 and continues to the present. Wings from within each generation are generally compatible with one another, but you should not assume a wing from an X166 will fit an X167 without confirming with the breaker against your registration.

Both the 2017 and 2019 GLS sit within the X166 generation, so the wing should be the same panel. That said, always confirm the part number with the breaker against your registration to be certain, as minor running changes can occur within a generation.

The 2020 model year marks the boundary between the X166 and the new X167 generation, which brought a completely redesigned front end including revised wings, lights and bumpers. A wing from the X166 (2016–2019) is very unlikely to fit the X167 (2020 onwards), so confirm the generation with the breaker using your registration before ordering.

Trim level does not affect the fundamental shape or fitment of the wing itself, as the same body panel is used across GLS trim grades within a generation. However, be aware that AMG Line and other higher trims may have different wing mouldings, side vents or badging, so the replacement may look slightly different cosmetically if sourced from a different trim variant. Always tell the breaker your trim level so they can match the finish and any features as closely as possible.

The AMG 63 GLS uses wider front wings with flared styling that differs from the standard GLS wing, so the two are not interchangeable. When sourcing a wing for an AMG 63 specifically, make this clear to the breaker and confirm the part against your registration to ensure you get the correct panel.

Engine type has no bearing on wing fitment; the same front wings are used across petrol, diesel and hybrid variants within the same generation. Focus on confirming the generation (X166 or X167) and your facelift status with the breaker rather than worrying about the engine.
