Does my Mercedes-Benz EQE have an intercooler?
No — the EQE is a fully electric vehicle with no combustion engine, so it has no intercooler at all. Intercoolers are only found on turbocharged (or supercharged) petrol and diesel engines, where they cool compressed air before it enters the engine; an electric motor has no use for one. If you think you have an air-cooling or thermal management issue on your EQE, the part you may actually be looking for is a component from the battery thermal management system, the inverter cooling circuit, or the electric motor cooling system.
I've been quoted an intercooler for my EQE — could the breaker have made a mistake?
Almost certainly, yes — no variant of the EQE (including the EQE 300, EQE 350, EQE 43 AMG, or EQE 53 AMG) was ever fitted with an intercooler, as none of them have a combustion engine. It's possible there has been a mix-up with another Mercedes model, such as a turbocharged E-Class or CLE, which do use intercoolers. Go back to the breaker and clarify exactly what cooling or drivetrain issue you are trying to fix so they can identify the correct part.
What cooling system parts does the EQE actually use instead of an intercooler?
Because the EQE is fully electric, its thermal management centres on cooling the high-voltage battery pack, the electric motors, and the power electronics (inverter and on-board charger) via a liquid cooling circuit rather than air-to-air intercooling. Parts you might genuinely need include the chiller unit, coolant pump, heat exchanger, or refrigerant circuit components specific to the EQE's e-thermal system. A breaker specialising in EV or Mercedes electric vehicles will be best placed to identify the exact component against your registration number.
Could an EQE from a different year or trim have an intercooler that mine doesn't?
No — every EQE sold in the UK, across all years of production from 2022 onwards and across all trim and power variants, is purely electric and therefore none of them were ever built with an intercooler. This is not a trim or specification difference; it is a fundamental consequence of the all-electric drivetrain shared by the entire model range. If a listing or quote mentions an intercooler for any EQE, it is not the correct part for your car.
