Buying a used Fiat Panda door: what matters

Used doors vary between vehicles - and whether you call it used, second hand or a replacement, matching the right one matters. These are the details breakers need to match the right part to your car - our request form asks them so you only hear from suppliers with the correct part:

Fitment questions

What generation is my Fiat Panda and does the year matter when buying a used door?

The Fiat Panda has three main generations: the original Mk1 (1980–2003), the Mk2 (2003–2012), and the current Mk3 (2012 onwards, with a facelift around 2017). Generation is the single most important fitment factor, so a door from the wrong generation will not fit — always confirm the generation of any door you are quoted against your own registration.

Will a door from a 2016 Fiat Panda fit my 2018 Panda?

This question spans the Mk3 facelift, which occurred around 2017, so a 2016 door is pre-facelift Mk3 and a 2018 door is post-facelift Mk3. Whether the door shell itself swaps across that facelift boundary is not something we can guarantee — confirm with the breaker whether the part they have matches your specific registration before buying.

Does it matter if I buy an NS or OS door for my Panda?

Yes — NS (nearside, the passenger side on the left) and OS (offside, the driver side on the right) doors are mirror images of each other and are not interchangeable. Always specify which side you need when requesting a quote from a breaker.

Do 3-door and 5-door Panda front doors interchange?

No — the front doors on a 3-door Panda are longer than those on a 5-door because they must cover the full side aperture, so the two body styles use different front doors. Make sure you tell the breaker whether your Panda is a 3-door or 5-door so they can match the correct door.

Does the trim level matter — will a door from a Panda Pop fit a Panda Lounge or Panda Cross?

For the door shell itself, trim level — whether Pop, Easy, Lounge, Cross, or any other — does not affect fitment provided the generation and body style match. You may find cosmetic differences such as body-coloured versus unpainted mouldings or different glazing features between trim levels, but these are cosmetic rather than structural fitment issues, and colour can always be resprayed to match.

Does the engine or colour of a donor Panda door affect whether it will fit my car?

Engine type has no bearing on door fitment whatsoever — a door from a 1.2 petrol Panda and a TwinAir or diesel of the same generation and body style are the same door. Colour is purely cosmetic: a breaker may supply a door in a different colour to yours, which can be resprayed, so do not let colour put you off an otherwise correct door.

Fitment guidance is general and mistakes can happen - vehicle specifications vary and manufacturers make mid-production changes. Always confirm the exact part against your registration with the supplying breaker before buying.
