Fitment questions

Do Vauxhall Movano window motors actually have electric windows, or is it a manual van?

Electric front windows were available on many Movano variants, particularly from higher trim levels and later production years, so window motors do genuinely exist on this model. However, not every Movano left the factory with electric windows — some base-spec vans had manual winders with no motor fitted at all. Before buying a used window motor, confirm with the breaker that your specific van was built with electric windows by quoting your registration.

Will a window motor from a first-generation Movano fit my second-generation one?

The Movano ran in two distinct generations: the first generation (Mk1) covered roughly 1998 to 2010, and the second generation (Mk2) ran from 2010 onwards with a facelift around 2019. The door structures changed significantly between generations, so a motor from the Mk1 is very unlikely to interchange with a Mk2. Stick to the same generation as your van and confirm the exact fitment with the breaker against your registration.

Does it matter whether I get a nearside or offside window motor for my Movano?

Yes, side absolutely matters — the NS (nearside, passenger/left) and OS (offside, driver/right) motors and regulators are handed and will not swap over. Always specify clearly to the breaker which side you need, using NS or OS, to avoid ordering the wrong unit.

Does the wheelbase of my Movano affect which window motor I need?

For the front door window motors, wheelbase does not affect fitment because the front doors are the same regardless of whether your van is short, medium, or long wheelbase. Wheelbase becomes relevant when you are looking at sliding door components, but front window motors are not affected by it. Confirm the side (NS or OS) and generation with the breaker and you should be fine for the front doors.

I have a Movano with a sliding side door — does it have a window motor?

Some Movano sliding side doors do include a drop-glass window, but whether that window is electrically operated varies by specification and year, and not all sliding door windows have a motor. If your sliding door glass is manually operated, there will be no motor to replace. Confirm with the breaker whether your van's sliding door is fitted with an electric window motor by providing your registration.

Does the trim level of my Movano change which window motor I need?

Trim level on the Movano — such as base fleet spec versus higher business or combi grades — can affect whether electric windows were fitted at all, but where electric windows are present the motor itself is the same unit for the same door and generation. If your van has electric windows, the trim name alone does not change which motor you need — side, generation, and door position are what matter. Let the breaker check against your registration to make sure your van was built with the electric option.
