Used Ford Galaxy Propshaft

The Ford Galaxy has always been a front-wheel-drive vehicle across all generations, so it was never fitted with a propshaft. There is no propshaft on any standard Galaxy variant, including any engine size or trim level. If you're hearing a knocking or vibrating noise from underneath, you may actually be looking for a driveshaft (also called a CV shaft or half-shaft), which transfers drive from the gearbox to the front wheels.

That's almost certainly an error - the Ford Galaxy is front-wheel-drive only and does not have a propshaft at any point in its production history. A propshaft is only found on rear-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive vehicles, and the Galaxy was neither. You'll want to go back to the supplier and clarify whether they mean a driveshaft (the front-drive axle shafts), as that's the more likely part you need.

The Galaxy doesn't have a propshaft at all, so there's nothing to compare on this model. A propshaft runs front-to-rear on RWD or 4WD vehicles, whereas a driveshaft runs laterally from the gearbox to each front wheel - and it's the driveshaft that the Galaxy uses. If you're replacing a worn or clicking shaft on your Galaxy, search for a front driveshaft and specify whether you need the nearside (NS, passenger side) or offside (OS, driver side), as these are different parts.

No Ford Galaxy was ever offered in a four-wheel-drive configuration in the UK market, so no variant of the Galaxy has a propshaft regardless of engine size or trim level. This applies across all three generations: the original Mk1 (1995-2006), the Mk2 (2006-2015), and the Mk3 (2015-2023).
