Buying Guide

A quote is the start of the deal - here is how to see it through safely.

How payment works

When you accept a quote, you pay the supplier directly - Findapart is not involved in the transaction. Always use a debit or credit card. A credit card payment may be protected under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 if something goes wrong. Never pay by cash, bank transfer, or money transfer services such as Western Union or MoneyGram - these offer no buyer protection.

Before you pay

Confirm your vehicle details again - model years and trims can be easy to mix up. Confirm exact part details, and get part numbers or OEM references where possible, especially for engines, gearboxes or ECUs. Confirm the full price, condition, warranty, and delivery cost and time. Get everything in writing before paying, and note down who you spoke to and their contact number.

If a supplier calls you

Suppliers may call to discuss your request. If they do, make sure you have received a written quote from them before making any payment.

Body panels

Some suppliers sell new body panels - these usually need painting before fitting.
