Cheap Vauxhall Signum Parcel Shelf

The Signum was produced from 2003 to 2008 as a single generation, built on the same platform throughout its run. There was a facelift in 2005 that updated styling details, so a parcel shelf from a pre-facelift car (2003–2005) may differ from a post-facelift example (2005–2008). Confirm with the breaker against your registration before buying across that 2005 boundary, as pressing changes around a facelift are exactly the kind of detail that can catch you out.

These cars sit either side of the 2005 facelift, so while the underlying platform is the same, there is a real possibility of minor differences in the rear shelf aperture or fittings around that boundary. Name the boundary confidently: pre-facelift is 2003–2005 and post-facelift is 2005–2008, and crossing it is where fitment becomes uncertain. Check the part with the breaker against both your registration and the donor car's registration before committing.

Trim level does not affect parcel shelf fitment on the Signum — the shelf is determined by the body and not by whether the car was a Design, Elegance, or Elite. What can differ between trims is cosmetic finish, such as colour, fabric covering, or whether a rear blind is integrated, so inspect the donor shelf carefully if matching your interior matters to you. The breaker should be able to describe the condition and finish before you buy.

The Signum and Vectra C share a platform, but the Signum has a distinct fastback hatchback body style rather than the Vectra's saloon or estate, meaning the rear body aperture and shelf dimensions are different. It is very unlikely a Vectra C estate or saloon shelf will drop straight into a Signum without modification. Confirm with the breaker against your exact registration, as they will know from experience whether any overlap exists.

Some Signum parcel shelves were fitted with an integrated retractable rear window blind, and those shelves will differ in construction and weight from shelves without one. If your car originally had a blind, you ideally want a donor shelf that also includes it, and vice versa, otherwise the mounting points may not suit your use. Tell the breaker whether your original shelf had a blind so they can match the right type to your car.

Physically, any Signum shelf from the same facelift period should be the right shape, but the fabric colour and finish varied across the interior colour options offered on the car. The fitment itself is not affected by colour, but a shelf in a mismatched interior colour will look out of place.
