The front suspension geometry and mounting points differ significantly between generations, and fitting a W245 subframe to a W246 is not a straightforward swap. Always confirm the exact part against your registration with the breaker before ordering.

The W246 received a facelift in 2014, and while the core platform was carried over, whether the subframe itself is identical across that boundary is something you need to confirm with the breaker against your specific registration. The breaker will be able to cross-reference the part numbers from your reg to make sure you get the correct unit. Do not assume it is a direct swap without that check.

Engine size can influence the front subframe specification on the W246 B-Class because larger or more powerful engines sometimes use uprated mounting points or slightly different configurations to handle the extra load. If you are moving between, say, a B180 and a B220, it is worth telling the breaker your exact engine variant alongside your registration. This is more likely to matter on the front subframe, but confirm either way with the breaker before buying.

Trim level alone — whether your car is an SE, Sport, or AMG Line — does not determine the subframe specification, so you are not restricted to sourcing from the same trim. Cosmetically trimmed cars may have different suspension tuning or ride-height settings, but the subframe itself is not a trim-specific part in the way that, say, upholstery would be. Confirm the part against your registration with the breaker rather than worrying about matching the trim badge.

In principle, a subframe from another W246 (2011–2018) is more likely to be compatible with your 2013 car than one from a different generation, but you should not assume all W246 years are identical — particularly given the 2014 facelift, after which running-gear specifications may have been revised. Give the breaker your full registration so they can match the part number precisely rather than going on year alone. Never buy purely on model year without that cross-reference.

The W246 B-Class and W176 A-Class share the same platform and there is significant mechanical overlap, but whether a specific subframe from a W176 will bolt directly into your W246 depends on the exact build date and engine variant of both cars. This is a question to put directly to the breaker, who can check part numbers against both registrations before committing to a sale. Do not assume platform sharing means a guaranteed straight swap.
